The Ashford Family

Alexia: Alexia is Alfred's twin sister, and his only close connection with humanity. She was a child prodigy, and already a celebrity in Umbrella's ranks, as well as being utterly despised by Umbrella's other shining star, William Birkin. She apparently died at the age of 13 from a lab accident at the Ashford family's research centre in the Antarctic. But, in actuality, she cryogenically froze herself after injecting the T-Veronica strain of the T-virus into her body. Alfred released her from her frozen sleep before he died from a wound given to him by Steve Burnside. Alfred missed his twin so much that he dressed and talked like Alexia, even thinking himself his own sister.

Alexander: Alexander Ashford is the father of Alexia and Alfred. It was during his tenior as head of the Ashford family that they started to slip in stature within Umbrella. Once Alexia became head of Research at the Antarctic Centre, she used her father in her trials. He was locked in a basement cell for approximately 14 years, and mutated into a creature that everyone dubbed The Nosferatu. He was blinded, and his heart was exposed in his chest, with his arms bound behind his back. In this form, Alexander was killed by Claire Redfield. Alexander was the one who founded the Antarctic Research Base where Alexia did her experiments.

Veronica: Veronica Ashford was the matriarch of the Ashford family. She was a famous beauty, and the T-Virus strain that Alexia worked with was named after Veronica. With Veronica, the presentation of gifts to the head of the Ashford family began. Her butler presented her with a golden teacup.

Edward: During Edward's tenior as the head of the Ashford Family, they enjoyed their golden age, when they were at their most prominent. It was under Edward's reign that Umbrella, Inc. came to fruition. It was he, along with Lord Spencer, that discovered the 'mother' virus, which would have later become the Progenitor Virus, which was the basis for the Tyrant Virus. He was the father of Alexander Ashford.

Stanley, Thomas and Arthur: Stanley was the second master of the Ashford family, though couldn't live up to Veronica's fame. He bore twin sons, Thomas and Arthur. Arthur was the father of Edward.
